Welcome to IMA's data maintenance using intermediate Excel skills. Ensuring reporting integrity begins with proper data maintenance. Scrubbing data doesn't mean changing facts, but rather presenting those facts in a clean, consistent manner. Once you have cleaned datasets, analytics become more reliable and revealing. This data integrity is key to enabling managerial decision-making, crucial to meeting organizational objectives. This course presents a real-world perspective on the steps typically used in data maintenance, often referred to as data cleaning. You'll be given the opportunity to follow along at your own pace with hands on experience.
The initial dataset files can be found in the resources section of this course. Please download the file, use it as instructed in the coursework, and save it to your personal computer. Each lesson in this course will build upon the previous lesson, so this file will be updated by you to provide the hands-on opportunity to achieve the tasks.
Although, you'll be using many formulas and features in Excel that are considered to be intermediate level, the step-by-step instructions will guide you successfully even if your Excel proficiency is at a basic level.
